The Honorable Path

How invested in not thinking are you? Are our actions rooted in cognizant free will or are they coming from a place of denial? Are your actions all about uplifting and supporting or are they about suppression and fear? Understanding where your actions come from is the first step to honoring yourself.

Note: Capitalized recipes are my own.

Day 95

  • cup of hot jasmine green tea with honey
  • small bowl of Strawberry Pudding (frozen strawberries, banana, avocado)
  • 2 slices of Cinnamon Date Manna Bread with coconut oil
  • bowl of brown rice with avocados, red bell pepper, scallions, garlic, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, sea salt
  • dinner at party: assorted sliced veggies with guacamole; a taste of this lovely black bean and corn salsa; small pie of my Flat-Bottom Apple Pie (crust was walnuts, almonds, raisins, sea salt; filling was apples and cinnamon coated with a syrup made from dates, orange, vanilla bean, water); cup of hot decaf tea
  • small bowl of Banana Ice Cream (frozen bananas, cashew butter, water) with walnuts on top
  • glass of water

Today's Observations
During the 24th, 25th, and 26th we are visiting several family and friends. There are snacks and drinks galore. I'm feeling inclined to reach for food just because it's there. It doesn't matter what it is: candy, meat, dairy, eggs, breads... whatever. And it has absolutely nothing to do with hunger; it has everything, however, to do with habit. Ironically, there is NO thinking involved in this habit. Now that I am thinking about my food and drink intake, I enforce the lapse between reaching and grabbing. Now it's become an observation... instead of an action. Go, me. ; )
