Joy in Variety

I have to keep variety in my food choices. I have a friend who eats the same type thing almost every day of his life. And though what he's eating really seems to work for him nutritionally, it would bore the pants off me. I've got to have a lot of textures, colours, flavours, and (visual artistic) movement on my plate throughout the day. But this is where I choose to put my creativity. I know this won't work for everyone. One thing I've noticed though: the people who put more effort into preparing their food are the people who feel more joy while consuming it. What about you?

Note: Capitalized recipes are my own.

Day 99

  • cup of hot jasmine green tea with honey
  • 2 slices of Fruit and Nut Manna Bread with coconut oil
  • Superfood IceScream (ice, almonds, cacao nibs, honey, mesquite, maca, lucuma, colostrum, irish moss, sea salt)
  • cup of Reishi Brew (reishi, astragalus, cat's claw, Pau d'Arco, elderberries, vanilla bean)
  • bowl of Savory Rice leftover from last night
  • an apple
  • baked potato topped with Bean Stew (kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, onions, red bell pepper, garlic, chili powder, cumin, sea salt), guacamole (avocado, garlic, lemon juice, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, sea salt), and Walnut Sauce from last night
  • glass of water
  • Choco Banana Frosty Thang (frozen bananas, ice, water, coconut oil, cashew butter, honey, cacao powder, sea salt)

Today's Observations
I've really been having fun with trying to find dinners that work for my omnivorous 'rents and my family. I've been coming up with some interesting combinations, but everyone seems happy! The potatoes and the Frosty Thang were a big hit!
