Pecking Order for Healing

One of my good friends says she always puts her children first - even before herself. That doesn't make any sense to me. Healing ourselves must be the priority. Helping our children heal (notice I didn't say "healing our children") is secondary. It's like those airplane instructions about the oxygen masks. You can't be a lantern for someone else if you're leading them around in the dark.

Note: Capitalized recipes are my own.

Day 37
  • 1/2 c. spring water
  • 1 c. hot jasmine green tea with stevia
  • a couple of bites of Mo's vegan peanut butter cookie
  • 1.5 oz. of corn and flax chips (from the bulk aisle at Axis)
  • 1 c. spring water
  • 3 c. of spinach salad (spinach, romaine, carrot, cucumber, red bell pepper, sunflower seeds) Olive Sesame Dressing (black olives, sesame seeds, garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, spring water)
  • 1 falafel patty from the Whole Foods salad bar
  • 1.5 c. hot apple cider
  • samplings of the Lime Coconut Pudding (avocado, coconut oil, lime juice, honey, sea salt) and Chocolate Rose Tart filling (cacao, coconut oil, honey, sea salt, powdered roses) from the class I taught
  • bite of sprouts
This picture of my Olive Sesame Dressing just does not do it justice.
It was this delicious, creamy, purple concoction that just made our mouths SING!

Today's Observations
Pretty good day. The idea of doing high raw as opposed to all raw is the right commitment for me right now. I don't feel... confined, if you get me.
